Beslutet om att OECD ska granska Sveriges resultat i PISA 2018 fattades i samråd mellan Skolverket och Utbildningsdepartementet. Syftet med granskningen är att kontrollera om de svenska resultaten i PISA 2018 är tillförlitliga. OECD kommer att granska all data igen och redovisa hur OECD har gjort bedömningen angående Sveriges resultat.
Parallellt med Pisa genomför OECD även projektet PIAAC (Programme for the OECD:s Programme for International Student Assessment, PISA, är en undersökning av Dessutom samlas data in om elevers värderingar och attityder.
